Storz-Kupplungen

 

Storz-Kupplungen sind symmetrische, nicht absperrende Kupplungen. Sie sind mit einem Bajonettverschluss ausgestattet, sodass keine Verschraubung erforderlich ist. Storz-Kupplungen zeichnen sich durch eine hohe Beständigkeit gegen Wasser, Säuren und Korrosion aus. Typische Anwendungsbereiche sind das Feuerwehrwesen, der Brandschutz, die Landwirtschaft, die Industrie (z. B. Lebensmittelindustrie, chemische Industrie) sowie die Bauwirtschaft. Storz-Kupplungen sind in verschiedenen Ausführungen und Größen verfügbar. Dadurch ist die optimale Kupplung für jede individuelle Anforderung realisierbar.

Aufbau und Form der Storz-Kupplungen

Storz-Kupplungen sind aus widerstandsfähigen Materialien produziert, meist aus Aluminium und Aluminiumlegierungen. Sie sind symmetrisch angeordnet. Das heißt, beide Verriegelungsköpfe sind völlig identisch und der Aufbau einer Verbindung ist nur in einer Richtung möglich. Der Bajonettverschluss wird durch einen Kragen geschützt. Im Unterschied zu anderen Kupplungssystemen ist die äußere Form rund.

Funktionsweise der Storz-Kupplung

Storz-Kupplungen haben die Funktion, feste Anschlüsse oder Schläuche miteinander zu verbinden. Der Mechanismus ist simpel. Durch das Ineinanderstecken und Verdrehen der Knaggenteile ist es möglich, die Kupplung zu schließen oder zu lösen. Auf diese Weise ermöglichen Storz-Kupplungen eine sehr leicht herzustellende Verbindung. Zugleich werden die Dichtungen geschont, da diese nicht gegeneinander verdreht werden müssen. Durch das Fehlen von Spitzen und Ecken ist die Handhabung außergewöhnlich griffsympathisch. Außerdem sind Storz-Kupplungen unempfindlich gegen Schmutz und vor Abrieb geschützt.

Einsatz im Feuerwehrwesen

Der wohl am weitesten verbreitete Einsatz der Storz-Kupplung ist das Feuerwehrwesen. Storz-Kupplungen werden daher auch als Feuerwehrkupplungen bezeichnet. Das Kupplungssystem ist hervorragend für den Transport von Wasser geeignet. Denn die Kupplung ist mit einer NBR-Dichtung (Nitrile Butadien Rubber) für wässrige sowie ölige Flüssigkeiten ausgestattet.

Anwendungen im gewerblichen Bereich

Verbreitet ist die Verwendung überall da, wo flach- oder formstabile Schläuche eingesetzt werden, die deutlich größer sind als Gartenschläuche mit einem Nenndurchmesser von 1 Zoll. Zu den typischen Branchen zählen das Bauwesen, die Landwirtschaft, die Schifffahrt, die Ver- und Entsorgung sowie die Fischzucht.

Sieben genormte Größen in Deutschland

Nach den Kriterien Knaggenabstand und Schlauchdurchmesser sind sieben genormte Größen definiert: A, B, C52, C42, S32, S28 und D. Knaggenabstand und Schlauchdurchmesser weisen in dieser Reihung eine absteigende Tendenz auf. Bei Kupplungen der Größen A und B ist die Verbindung bzw. Trennung im drucklosen Zustand von Hand und ohne Werkzeug meist möglich. In der Größe D lassen sich die Kupplungen druckbeaufschlagt nach zweifachem Knicken des Schlauches mit der Hand entkuppeln. Somit ist die Möglichkeit gegeben, die Leitung zu verlängern bzw. zu kürzen oder Anbauteile (z. B. Hohlstrahlrohren) während des Einsatzes auch bei vorhandenem Druck in der Leitung anzubauen bzw. abzubauen. Kupplungen der Größe D sind auch als Saugkupplung einsetzbar. Alle regulären Größen werden von der Feuerwehr verwendet. Dagegen finden Sondergrößen in anderen Bereichen Anwendung, zum Beispiel zum Befüllen der Wasserbehälter in Zügen. In der Schweiz sind die gleichen Kupplungen im Einsatz. Aber diese sind nach Innendurchmesser genormt.
